The Maple Heights Service department handles many tasks throughout the city, ranging from snow removal to street repairs, as well as various recycling events in partnership with the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District during the year. This page also provides links for house sanitary sewers issues, animal warden, snow removal permit and ordinances, pothole repair, and road, tree and trash collection information.
*NEW TRASH LIMITS* Waste Management has a strict limit of only 2 extra items outside of your regular trash cart- i.e. 2 extra bags, 2 extra trash cans, 2 large bulky items- or any combination there-of. NO EXCEPTIONS.

House Sanitary Sewers
Please call the Cuyahoga County Sanitary Engineer’s Office at (216) 443-8201 if you are experiencing sewer backup. In many cases, they will respond to your call the same day.
Battery Information
Call2recycle.org, for single use batteries, Rechargeable, (cell Phone) the nearest location is Home Depot for rechargeable batteries.
FREE recycling services and collection boxes for rechargeable batteries including Lithium Ion (Li-Ion), Small Sealed Lead Acid (SSLA/Pb), Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH), Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd) and Nickel Zinc (Ni-Zn);
PRE-PAID boxes to recycle non-rechargeable primary/single-use batteries including Alkaline & Carbon Zinc, Lithium, and Button/Coin Cell

Snow Removal Permit Ordinances
Private contractors plowing snow are required to register with the city. Private contractors must complete the snow removal application, provide valid drivers license, proof of insurance/bond, and pay the $20 registration fee. Below are the city ordinances and information concerning permits, registration, and information for homeowners who would like to remove their snow with powered equipment (snow throwers, etc) late at night or early morning:

Hazardous Waste Round-up
Computer recycling, as well as the Hazardous Waste round-up, can be dropped off at the Maple Heights Service garage, 5501 Dunham Road year-round, weekdays ONLY from 7:30 AM until 3:00 PM. (No latex paint!!)
Oil
Residents can return used oil in approved containers to the City Service Garage, 5505 Dunham Road. Please use the second entrance closest to Benhoff Drive – the oil recycling station is located on the north side of the driveway approximately 200 feet from Dunham Road.
Fluorescent Bulbs (CFL)
Maple Heights partners with the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District for proper disposal of various household chemicals, paint and other items but does NOT accept fluorescent bulbs/ CFL’s for recycling or disposal. According to Lowe’s Home Improvement stores, they WILL accepts CFL’s and Fluorescent Bulbs for disposal at their stores.
