The mission of the City of Maple Heights is to help improve the quality of life of our youth by providing a variety of programs and activities, including sports, community wide volunteer programs and more. Relaxation, enjoyment, cultural enrichment, and learning as well as providing opportunities for community involvement are key components in positive youth development.
Youth Engagement Activities
Spring Sports Clinic
Maple Heights Youth Spring Sports Clinic is a three-day annual event for our elementary and middle school age children held at Maple Heights High School. This city and school partnership event include activities such as, Girls and Boys basketball, volley ball, cheer and wrestling.
Youth Soccer
Maple Heights Youth Soccer is annual partnership through JumpStart Sports. It includes Hummingbirds Soccer for Boys and Girls ages 3-6 learn the basic fundamentals through expert instruction, fun drills and non-competitive games. It also includes Recreational Soccer for ages 7-9 learn the fundamentals of soccer as well as more complex aspects of the sport in program designed for experienced players and novices alike. Each session includes skill instruction and games play.
SSE Dawgs Youth Tackle Football and Cheerleading
Maple Heights SSE Dawgs Youth Tackle Football and Cheerleading. Includes four football and cheer teams ages 7-12. Open tryouts and practice start early May and the season begin mid-August. Practice during the season is held at Benhoff Park Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5:30PM until 7:30PM.
The YES Program
The Maple Heights YES (Youth Engagement in Service) Program offers students (grades 6-12) opportunities to volunteer and give back to the community. Activities include park clean-ups, community clean-ups, and special events. All service hours are documented, providing members with printable records for high school, college, or job applications.
